Our Village is nestled in the majestic mountains in the Eastern Highlands Province (EHP) of Papua New Guinea.
Fomu is charming. Our people are friendly and welcoming. Our homes are made from bush materials and dot the landscape. We grow vegetables, fruit and coffee. We are expert gardeners and self sufficient farmers.
We are hard working and determined to provide a positive future for our children.
Our Vision
To create a community that is peaceful for our people, to live in harmony with our neighbours, and to develop an organised, well structured, modern, beautiful village, drawing on commitments to health and well being of individuals and whole population of the community.
Our Mission
Fomu Community Welfare Association (FCWA) is a registered organisation with investment promotion authority (IPA), as an incorporated association for seeking funding from the government of PNG and donor agencies for village development projects through proper project proposal submissions.
FCWA intends to provide a number of distinct but inter-related social services and economical developments to the Fomu village and neighbouring communities. Our Key Development Areas (KDA) are:
- Provision of health services through proper health infrastructure and public advocacy.
- Building modern school infrastructures with modern technology for better education of our children
- Ensure that the community is provided with relevant community services for improving community living, the community will engage in self-help projects to improve quality of life and to overcome obstacles of poverty.
- Establishment of law and justice in the community for dispute resolutions, and to ensure peaceful community living.
FCWA Values
FCWA is committed to serve the Fomu community and neighbouring communities with dedication to bring social and economical developments to transform the way of living. The FCWA will strive to ensure that Fomu community is provided with a peaceful environment for all individuals, including previously warring tribes to work together for the good of our region.
